Hyper Ball was originally created by indie developer Bijoy Thangaraj before The APP Company became involved. At the time, the game was very simple but difficult to monetize. It operated under a premium 99 cent model and was relatively out dated. In order to ensure a successful relaunch, The APP Company producers prepared an extensive plan to make the game not only more fun, but easier to monetize as well. This was done through the game’s Producer’s Report which featured everything from new gameplay changes to new in-app purchases. Specific changes include the addition of new blocks with new properties, new balls with new physics, and power-ups scattered throughout the world. Coins, which could be collected throughout the game or purchased for different prices, were set as the games currency and offered new options for in-app purchases. The game’s transformation was extraordinary and it took a lot of hard work from both developer and publisher to make it a success.
